Runescape Magic Guide

Casting spells can be quite simple, even to a new Magician, but there are still several things that you need to know before you begin.

The Spell Book

This is where you'll be casting all of your magical spells from; the Spell Book. By clicking on the book icon to the right of your screen, it will bring up a list of all your magic. Depending on how many spells you've learned and the number of runes you're holding, you may see 2 different colored symbols: runescape power leveling

Colored-in Icon: You have a high enough magic level and the required Runes to cast the spell.

Blacked-out Icon: You can't use the spell until you reach a high enough level, or you don't have the required Runes.

When you hover over a spell's icon, you will see some important info about it, such as the required Runes to cast it, a description of the spell, and the needed magic level to cast it. In the picture, it shows how many runes I'm holding at the time, and how many I need to cast the spell. The first number is how many Runes I have, and the second is how many are needed to use the spell. I have 5 Nature, 5 Water, and 5 Earth Runes.

Runes

RuneStones, or Runes for short, are imbued with magical powers from the land, and they were created many ages ago by the ancestors of RuneScape. When you hold enough of a specific combination of Runes, you can cast a magical spell. Runes can be found throughout RuneScape, lying on the ground, looted from enemies, and crafted using your RuneCrafting skill. They can also be bought from Magic Stores such as the ones in Varrock, Port Sarim and the Magic Guild. runescape power leveling

Magic Items

There are a variety of magical items that can help to make your magic stronger, and your spells more likely to succeed, including robes, staffs, and amulets.

Amulets

Amulets are worn around your neck and will offer additional magic bonuses. They can be crafted with gold and cut gems, and then must be enchanted in order to make them powerful.

Staffs

Staffs can be a Wizard's best friend during battles (and for walking long distances!). There are 3 main kinds of Staffs: Elemental Staffs, Battle Staffs, and Mystic Staffs. There are also special Staffs that you can obtain from monsters or other quests.

Before explaining those kinds of staffs, there is some info that you should know. First, there are 2 basic staffs: Staffs and Magic Staffs. Staffs are just like a regular carved stick, and they add no bonuses to your stats. Magic Staffs add a slight amount of Magic Attack & Defense, but they have no special abilities.

All Staffs will allow you to continually use an attack spell on your enemy until it dies, or you run out of Runes. To use this option, go into your Fighting Style menu while you are wielding your staff. Near the top on the right side you'll see a spell button; click it to select your choice of several elemental attack spells, ranging from low to high. You'll now attack with that spell, rather than with a melee attack.

Elemental Staffs include Air, Water, Earth and Fire. They can be bought at Zaff's Staff Shop in the northwest part of Varrock for 1,500gp each, and they will be equal to an infinite number of that type of Rune when the staff is wielded. So, if you use a lot of one type of Rune, it would be wise to buy that kind of staff. Each of these add 10 to both your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

Battle Staffs are much like regular Elemental Staffs, but they have a Charged Orb attached to them. Battle Staffs are much stronger than regular staffs, and they will still allow you to use an unlimited number of Runes of that type. The Orb can be Crafted with glass, and then you need to cast the appropriate Charge spell on its Obelisk to power it up. Then just attach the Orb to the Staff to get a Battle Staff.

Mystic Staffs are actually just enchanted Battle Staffs. They are much stronger than normal staffs (comparable to a Rune Longsword), and still take the place of a Rune. To get a Battle Staff enchanted into a Mystic Staff, you first need to complete the Scorpion Catcher Quest. Thormac the Wizard, located south of the Seers Village, will enchant your staff for 40,000gp.

Special Staffs can be obtained from a quest or a monster.

Staff of Iban - Received after completing the Underground Pass Quest. This allows you to use the Iban Blast spell when equipped. Adds 10 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

God Staffs - These include the Staff of Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix, and you can choose one after defeating Kolodion in the Mage Arena. When wielded, you have the ability to use their specific God spell: Saradomin Strike, Flames of Zamorak, or Claws of Guthix. They also add 6 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

Lava Staff - This staff is a rare drop from the Kalphite Queen, and it will give you an unlimited amount of Fire and Earth Runes.

Mud Battlestaff - This staff is a rare drop from the Dagganoth Kings on Waterbirth Island, and it will give you an unlimited supply of Earth and Water Runes.

Slayer Staff - Bought from any Slayer Master. Used to cast Magic Dart to kill specific Slayer Monsters. Provides 12 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

Ancient Staff - Can be bought from Elbis for 80,000gp after completing the Desert Treasure Quest. Provides 15 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

Ahrim's Staff - Part of Ahrim the Blighted's set. Requires 70 Defense and Magic to use. Provides 15 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonuses.

Obsidian Staff (Toktz-mej-tel) - You can buy this using TokKul from the Fight Pit equipment shop for 52,500 TokKul.

Lunar Staff - Can be bought from the Oneiromancer after completing the Lunar Diplomacy Quest. Allows for autocasting attack spells, and it has better magic attack than regular Elemental staffs (+13 Magic Attack), as well as a +3 Prayer bonus.

Void Knight Mace - This weapon can auto-cast Claws of Guthix, and can be bought from Pest Control for 250 Pest Points.

Wands are another type of Mage weapon, which you can buy from the Mage Training Arena using Pizazz Points. These are particularly useful, as they give decent Magic Attack and Defense bonuses, and you can autocast regular spells with them.

One particular note about wands, is that you must own them in order before being able to move onto the next one. for instance, you can't use a higher-up wand before using a Beginner Wand.

Here are the Wands in order:

Beginner Wand - Adds 5 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonus. Requires level 45 Magic.

Apprentice Wand - Adds 10 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonus. Requires level 50 Magic.

Teacher Wand - Adds 15 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonus. Requires level 55 Magic.

Master Wand - Adds 20 to your Magic Attack and Defense bonus. Requires level 60 Magic.

Drinks & Potions

If you want to temporarily raise your magic level by 2-3 points, you can buy a Wizard's Mind Bomb from the Rising Sun bar in Falador. Depending on your Magic level, it may raise your Magic 2 or 3 points. It will cost 2gp and it only lasts a short while, but if you need an extra magic level it can help.

You can also mix your own Magic Essence Potion with your Herblore skill, which adds +3 to your Magic level temporarily. It can be made at level 57 by mixing a Starflower and a Gorak Claw in a vial.

Magic Potions can be made using your Herblore skill as well, and it adds +4 to your Magic level for a short time. It requires level 72, and can be made with Lantadyme and Potato Cactus.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using Magic

Before you begin to use some Magic, you should gather all the Runes you need to cast the spell you want to use, by either buying them, making them with your RuneCrafting skill, or fighting enemies. You should also bring any magic items discussed before, if you want those bonuses. Now once you've found a target, choose your attack spell and click on your opponent to cast the spell.

When Spells Don't Work

Sure, everyone has a bad spell-casting day once in awhile, and if you're trying to cast a newly-learned spell, you may miss your enemy and the spell won't work. If this happens, you will still use the Runes needed to cast the spell, and you will earn the experience for trying to use it.

Other Types of Spells

Of course, there are other different kinds of magic spells to use, but you need to reach a high enough level to cast them. Depending on the kind of spell, you need to use it on a specific target. For instance, you can only cast Teleport spells on yourself, and an Enchant spell is only used on rings and amulets. For more info about different kinds of magic, check the Other Kinds of Spells section.

The Spell List

There are a great number of spells to use in the RuneScape world, some of which can only be used by Members. For your reference, here is a list of magical spells with their important information.

Attack Spells

This type of spell is what you'll probably be using in combat (if you're a Mage). It's best to wear gear such as Robes or any of the equipment outlined above, which is specifically designed for a Mage. Wearing armor such as Platebodies and Helmets not only make you more suceptible to magical attacks, but will decrease your ability to use your own attack spells.

Alchemy & Conversion Spells

These spells allow you to turn an ordinary item, such as armor or bones into gold or other items.

Alchemy & Conversion Spells

Magic Level Magic Spell Runes

15 Bones to Bananas 2 Earth, 2 Water, 1 Nature

21 Low Level Alchemy 3 Fire, 1 Nature

43 Superheat Item 4 Fire, 1 Nature

55 High Level Alchemy 5 Fire, 1 Nature

60 Bones to Peaches 2 Nature, 4 Water, 4 Earth

Bones to Bananas will cause any bones in your inventory to become edible Bananas. This is useful for when you're low on health and need some food in a hurry, although it isn't a very commonly used spell.

Bones to Peaches is similar to the "Bones to Bananas" spell. It will turn any bones in your inventory into Peaches, which heal 8 hitpoints. Although, you can only use this spell once you've boght the Bones to Peaches spellbook from the Mage Training Arena.

Low Level Alchemy will turn an item into the amount of gold it sells for in a General Store, while High Level Alchemy will yield the amount of gp it sells for in a specialty shop. If you're trying to High Alchemize large amounts of a certain item, it's best to put the item into Bank Notes and cast the spell on the notes. It only alchemizes 1 item at a time, but it's much faster than having to run back to the bank!

Superheat Item will act as a Furnace and smelt a bar of ore for you. Just cast the spell on the ore of the bar you wish to make (if you want to make a Mithril Bar, cast it on a Mithril Ore).

Enchantment Spells

This kind of spell can be cast on Rings, Amulets, and certain Necklaces with gems inside. First just craft the item, and then cast the correct Enchant spell on it:

Level 1 Enchant - Sapphire Rings, Amulets and Necklaces.

Level 2 Enchant - Emerald Rings, Amulets and Necklaces.

Level 3 Enchant - Ruby Rings & Amulets.

Level 4 Enchant - Diamond Rings & Amulets.

Level 5 Enchant - Dragonstone Amulets and Rings.

Level 6 Enchant - Onyx Amulets and rings.

After you enchant your Amulet, Ring or Necklace, it will be powered up, bringing out magical abilities.

Ardougne Teleport - You must have already finished the Plague City Quest.

Watchtower Teleport - You need to complete the Watchtower Quest.

Trollheim Teleport - You need to complete the Eadgar's Ruse Quest.

Ape Atoll Teleport - You must complete Awogowei's dish from Recipe for Disaster.

Teleother Spells are only available on Members servers and will allow a player to teleport you to another location. Of course, you need to give permission for them to use the spell on you, and you must have the Accept Aid option (in your controls menu) set to "Yes" for it to work. A menu will pop up asking if you want the other player to teleport you and you'll be able to choose "yes" or "no."

Runescape Hunter Guide

To start off the Hunter Skill, go to either Nardah or Yanille, and head towards the hunter shop. Aleck runs the shop in Yanille where you will also find Leon who will sell you a Hunters' Crossbow for 1,300gp. To make the Bolts for the Crossbow you will need Kebbit Bolts made from Kebbit Spikes and Long Kebbit Spikes. The Hunters' Crossbow requires 50+ Ranging to wield and gives a range bonus of +55.

The Hunters' Crossbow also fires faster then normal crossbows, but in turn cannot hold enchanted bolts or spikes. To make 6 Kebbit Bolts you need to give Leon 1 Kebbit Spike and 20gp, or 1 Long Spike and 40gp for 6 Long Kebbit Bolts. At 32 Fletching you can fletch Kebbit Bolts by using a Chisel on Kebbit Spikes, at 42 Fletching you can fletch Long Tipped Kebbit Bolts by using a Chisel on Long Spikes.

Advisory to begin hunting is to go to Yanille first because it's closest to the first creatures you can hunt.

Factors in Tracking

There are 4 primary factors in how well you hunt:

Bait - Certain creatures are attracted to certain bait more than others.

Smell - When you reach level 39 Hunting, you can smoke the trap in order to improve your chances of capture.

Appearance - If you are wearing clothing made out of the fur and skins of creatures in that region the more likely they are to fall into your trap, mainly because the creatures have a tendency to be wary around people.

Distance - It's recommended that you stay at least 5 spaces away to improve your capture. runescape powerleveling

Tracking

Required Item: Noose Wand.

To track an animal you must move around obstacles and search for clues as to where the creature may be. Among these are gnawed plants, moving branches, moving obstacles, and food remains, there are four main tracking areas, snow, north of Keldagrim, jungle, south of Feldip Hills, woodland, south of the Piscatoris Fishing Colony, and desert, east of the River Elid, and west of Uzer.

Snow Tracking: You need to head north of the entrance to Keldagrim and continue going until you come to an icy plateau, continue moving north until you find steps and ascend them. Search in bushes, burrows, hollow logs and snow rifts. If you find nothing look somewhere else.

Jungle Tracking: Head south of Gu'Tanoth, located southwest of Yanille, and search bushes, trees, and burrows.

Woodland Tracking: Either walk around Eagle's Peak, or take the boat to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and head south. Once again search bushes, burrows, and plants.

Desert Tracking: Go southeast of Shantay Pass, between the River Elid and Uzer. Search plants, bushes, burrows, and rockslides.

When you do not find something you will see this message:

If you find animal tracks, do not go where they lead, look in areas around them:

As seen in the image above the tracks lead to a snow drift. Don't search the snowdrift, but instead, search other nearby exits to find the next part of the track.

When you have completed the track, search nearby areas and you will obtain a message, stating that it seems like something is hiding where you searched. So right-click that object and attack it:

Birds

Required Item: Bird Snare.

The main birds you can capture are: Crimson Swifts, Golden Warbler, Copper Longtails, Cerulean Twitches, and Tropical Wagtails. Each one when caught gives you feathers relating to itself.

Crimson Swifts are found on the beach in the Jungle region, when you get there with your bird snare(s), lay them and wait for a Crimson Swift to land on one, if you successfully capture it then it will fall over, if it flies off, it has escaped your trap, you need to disassemble it, and then reassemble it for the snare to work.

Wearing camouflage area that matches the reason and staying a distance away also helps capture birds, recommended 5+ spaces away.

Here's an example of a captured bird (a Golden Warbler):

Butterflies

Required Items: Butterfly Net, Butterfly Jar.

There are four different types of butterflies: Red Harvest Butterflies, Sapphire Glacialis Butterflies, Snowy Knight Butterflies, and Black Warlock butterflies. To capture a Butterfly, you must have a Butterfly catching net, and Butterfly jars which can be bought from the shop. Red Harvest Butterflies are located in the woodlands region, Sapphire Glacialis and Snowy Knight Butterflies, are located in the snow region. Black Warlock Butterflies are located in the Jungle region.

When in a multi-combat area you can use the butterflies to boost other users stats:

Ruby Harvest - Attack

Sapphire Glacialis - Defense

Snowy Knight - Hitpoints

Black Warlock - Strength

Butterflies can be hard to spot as they move quickly and appear as specks of color:

While holding a Butterfly Catching Net and Butterfly Jars, you will chase it and eventually catch it and put it in a jar.

Deadfall Traps

Required Items: Logs and a Knife.

Deadfall traps are used to capture Wild Kebbits, which are in the woodlands, Barbtailed Kebbits, located in the jungle, Prickly Kebbits, located in the woodlands, and Sabretooth Kebbits located in the snow region.

To set a deadfall trap you must find a rock column on the ground. When you have found a spot select Lay Trap.

It is then advised that you skewer bait onto the sticks.

Step away, and either the creature will get away or it will be caught in your trap!

Then check your trap to claim your reward.

Notes:

You may only set one deadfall trap at a time.

At level 39, you can use a lit torch with your Deadfall Trap to remove your scent and increase to chance of capturing your prey.

When you use meat, use raw bird meat, because if the creature is trapped, you recover the meat, saving a lot of bank runs and it is good for training. You can also set up bird traps with your deadfall traps to restock when the occasional kebbit steals your meat.

Box Trapping

Required Items: Box Trap

Box trapping is used to hunt Ferrets, Chinchompas and Carnivorous Chinchompass. Chinchompas can be found in the woodlands, and Carnivorous Chinchompass can be found in the Jungle. Make sure you buy a number of Box Traps with there being no limit to how many you can set up, and set them up near Ferrets or Chinchompas.

Ferrets can only be hunted once you have completed the Eagles' Peak Quest. They require level 27 to catch, and are only found in the woodland region near Nickolaus' tent.

You can bait the boxes with Spicy Chopped Tomatoes for Chinchompas and Spiced Minced Meat for Carnivorous Chinchompass.

During a period of time without catches your boxes will fall over and you will need to reassemble them. If you make a successful catch the box will turn a dark color.

Bait:

To make Spicy Chopped Tomatoes: Have a bowl in your inventory with a knife and tomato. Use the knife on the tomato, then add some Gnome Spice to it. To make Spiced Minced Meat: Have a bowl in your inventory with a knife and cooked meat. Use the knife on the meat and then add Gnome Spice to it.

Notes:

At level 39, you can use a lit torch with your Box Trap to remove your scent and increase to chance of capturing your prey.

Net Trapping

Required Items: Small Fishing Net and a Rope.

Required Quests: Nature Spirit, and Priest in Peril (for Green Lizards)

Nets are used to trap lizards and salamanders, however these reptiles do not appear in the normal hunting regions, with the exception of Orange Salamanders found in the desert region.

To obtain the bait for a Salamander or Lizard, you must first gain their related herbs:

Green Lizard - Guam Leaf

Orange Salamander - Marrentill

Red Salamander - Tarromin

Black Salamander - Harralander

Next head to Lumbridge Swamps and collect 15 pieces of Swamp Tar. While carrying a Pestle and Mortar, use the Swamp Tar with an herb to ground it up and get the tar of the related herb. Now go to the location, for the salamander you wish to catch. You need to find a tree which when you select will allow you to lay a net trap.

Then either just wait, or add the bait, step back and wait. When you capture the lizard or salamander the net will look like:

Check the net, and you will obtain the lizard or salamander.

Notes:

At level 39, you can use a lit torch with your Net Trap to remove your scent and increase to chance of capturing your prey.

Pitfall Trapping

Required Items: Logs, Knife, Teasing Stick

Pitfall trapping are used to capture, the larger creatures, that can't be caught normally with small hunting tricks. You can lay Pitfall traps in the jungle region hunting Larupias, on Karamja, northeast of Cairn Island, you can hunt horned Graahks, and in the snow region Sabretoothed Kyatts.

Once you have laid your traps, you need to lay two in case you don't capture the creature the first time, you need to use a Teasing Stick on the creature you wish to capture, and when it is chasing you, jump one of your pitfall traps. The creature chasing you will either walk on it and fall into the trap or jump the trap, and the creatures will not jump the same trap twice, so if it gets by your first one, jump your second and continue going around until you capture it.

Imps

At level 71 hunting, you can start catching imps. To hunt them, you need a magic box and beads. Beads are dropped by imps. Take any colored bead and place it into the magic box. Set up the magic box in an area populated with imps. Wait for the imps to walk over the box. If successful, the imp will be sucked into the box. If not, the imp will walk over the box and disable the trap. Simply set the trap up again and try again. If you catch an imp, you can release them or keep for personal use. You can use imps to send two items to the bank.

Once captured you have an Imp-in-a-box(2). The (2 marks that it will take your 2 items to the bank, whereas a (1) would mean you could only use it to send one item or one stack of items to the bank.

Right click on the Imp-in-a-box, and select the bank option which will allow you to ask the Imp to take 2 items, or 2 stacks of items to the bank.

Note: The Imp will flat out refuse to bank for you if you are past level 30 in the Wilderness.

Lassoing

Required Quests: Eagles' Peak.

To use a Giant Eagle you must have at least 27 Hunting and have completed the quest Eagles' Peak. A common misconception is that to use the Eagles you need to wear your Bird Costume that you obtained from the Quest (Fake Beak & Eagle Cape), however you do not. Bring Rope and go past the first Eagle in the Eagles' Peak cavern. There you will find three eagles, a Polar Eagle, a Jungle Eagle, and a Desert Eagle. Each will take you to the places they are named for:

Jungle: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Jungle. If you exit this area, you may not turn around because you will fall a little ways from a cliff, that is unreachable unless you have a Thatching Spar obtained from Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup or a Teasing Stick that you can use with the young vine to help it grow, making it able for you to climb back up into the cave.

Polar: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Snow region. When you exit this dungeon you will appear on a crevice and must use handholds to get down, and this time you can go back up to use the Eagle again, to return to the Woodland.

Desert: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Desert region, however you cannot exit this dungeon unless you have entered it from the desert at a point in time beforehand, and moved the boulder out of the way.

The entrance to this dungeon is located north of the desert phoenix and west of the clay mines of the Ruins of Uzer.

Runescape Hitpoints Guide

What are hitpoints?

Hitpoints are your life points, and having a higher Hitpoint level allows you to not only fight stronger level monsters, but also affects your combat level! To level up your Hitpoints, you can fight monsters with either of the following skills:

1. Melee, close combat fighting,

2. Maging, killing from a distance with magic,

3. Ranging, killing from a distance with bow and arrow.

Each of these skills require high determination to level really high, however the first few levels should be easy enough.

Is it true that increasing your Hitpoints also increases your combat level? runescape powerleveling

Yes, to answer your question more accurately, your style of fighting, which gets you Hitpoint experience will also give you combat levels. Combat levels don't only come from fighting directly, but also from getting Hitpoint levels and Prayer levels!

What is the highest hitpoints level you can have?

Currently, the highest you can get in any level is 99; however with the use of different potions from Herblore, you can get even higher levels for short amounts of time!

These specific potions increase a skill depending on what strength you take, the highest lasting for about 10-20 minutes. These potions can make your skills reach over 100 too! But be warned, the better the potion (in terms of normal or super type potions), the costlier it will become.

When can I start? runescape powerleveling

Well, you could always just read on to the first chapter of my guide, Melee.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melee

Melee style fighting is the least effective way of getting your Hitpoints level to a higher standard, but it also lets you get up your combat level in the same way.

Combat Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-9: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 1-14.

Note: Rats, Chickens and Giant Spiders are not suggested monsters to fight against at this level, being as they give hardly any experience.

Level 10-19: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 15-27.

Note: Warrior women give the least amount of exp here, but only by a slight amount.

Level 20-29: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 28-37.

Level 30-39: The medium level monsters ranging from levels 38-47.

Level 40-69: The medium level monsters ranging from levels 48-57.

Level 70-89: The high level monsters ranging from levels 58-67.

Level 90-126: The highest level monsters ranging from levels 68-333.

Note: Levels above 92 are members only and will not be explained in this guide.

Notes on Melee Style Training

Try fighting monsters one section below your own combat level to gain easier and quicker Hitpoints exp. E.g. I was level 70, so I should fight monsters around level 48-57 to make my Hitpoint raising time a lot quicker.

Fighting higher level monsters can be a little bit easier in getting up your Hitpoints, but be forewarned that you may need a lot of food if you are a low defense level, just so you don't get killed.

Different Melee Styles

The different Melee styles are as following:

Accurate

Aggressive

Defensive

Remember that no matter what fighting style you choose to train, you will get equal amounts of Hitpoints experience (about 1.33xp per damage point inflicted).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maging

Maging is the second most effective way of leveling up hitpoints. For more Maging information, check out the Magic Guide.

Before we start Maging, I'd like to add one more thing: non-damage spells (such as Alchemy spells) do NOT give any Hitpoints experience whatsoever.

Magic Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-16: Use the best attack type spells you can (strikes) on monsters ranged from levels 1-20

Level 17-35: Use the best attack type spells you can (bolts) on monsters ranged from levels 21-40

Level 36-59: Use the best attack type spells you can (blasts) on monsters ranged from levels 41-60

Level 60+: Members only is recommended.

Notes on Magic style hitpoints raising:

For magic, remember if you have cover from higher level monsters, so that they can not hurt you, feel free to attack them!

Be sure to check out what type of attacks your monster can use, just be careful they don't use magical attacks against you

Different Maging style attacks

The different maging styles when attacking an opponent are as follows:

Accurate/Aggressive

Defensive

They also all give out equal amounts of Hitpoint experience!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ranging

Ranging is the most effective way of getting up your Hitpoints level. For more information on ranging, check the Ranging Guide. All types of ranging give you Hitpoint experience

Ranging Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-14: Fight monsters ranged between levels 1-10

Level 15-25: Fight monsters ranged between levels 11-30

Level 26-37: Fight monsters ranged between levels 31-50

Level 37+: Fight all monsters above level 51

Notes on Ranging to gain hitpoints:

Like maging, make sure you find some good cover from opponent monsters before starting, so you don't get overwhelmed by a higher level monster.

Also, remember that, like Meleeing and Maging, no matter what type of ranging you choose, you will always get equal amounts of Hitpoint experience unless of course when you use a cannon which will cost you about 650k.

For ranging, fight the monsters in a lower category, just to keep safe if you can't find any cover, in which case it does not matter.

Different Ranging styles

The different ranging styles of attacks are as follows:

Accurate/Rapid

Longrange

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion

Well that wraps it up for Hitpoints leveling on free to play.

Remember to always fight lower category monsters, unless of course you have some cover (when maging and ranging).

Keep in mind, the higher levels you get, the harder the Hitpoints levels will become, but it will be worth it in the end.

Runescape Herblore Guide

All potions consist of a specific kind of Herb, and another ingredient which is added to your unfinished potion. These ingredients can be found throughout RuneScape, from looting fallen enemies or in the deep Wilderness, depending on the item. Take a look at the Ingredients Chart for a complete list.

Various foes such as Men, Druids and Skeletons carry herbs, and sometimes drop them upon death. Herbs will need to be identified before you can use them in your potions, so check the Herb Chart for more info. runescape power leveling

Vials

These are what holds the potion, so that you can save it for later use. Vials can be crafted with glass, bought in the Taverley Herblore shop, or traded from other players. They are relatively inexpensive to buy and easy to craft, so you can stock up on them to make many potions.

Creating Potions

To make a potion, you should first fill your empty vial with water from a sink or fountain. Next, use the identified herb you need with the water-filled vial, which will make an Unfinished Potion. Now just add the required ingredient to the potion to finish it.

Some kinds of potions require you to ground up the ingredients before you put them into your Unfinished Potion. You will need to use a Pestle and Mortar with the object to ground the item up for use with your potion. A Pestle and Mortar can also be bought in the Taverley Herblore shop. Check the Potion Chart for more info about ingredients. runescape power leveling

Combining & Emptying Potions

Most potions you make will have 3 doses, which means that you can drink it 3 times before it's completely used up, with exception to Weapon Poison, which only has 1 dose. You can combine your used potions together to make one up to 4-doses, as long as they're the same type of potion. You can also choose the "Empty Potion" option to completely empty the vial to make room for another potion.

Greenman's Ale

These drinks will give your Herblore a quick "level-up" when you drink them, which can be helpful if you're just a level away from Identifying an herb or mixing a potion. You can buy them from the bar in Yanille, just west of the Wizard's guild for 10gp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Identifying Herbs

Of course, before creating a potion you must identify your herbs before using them. To identify an herb, just right-click on it and choose the 'Identify' option. If you're a high enough level to identify it, the name will show up, and the leaf may change color. At first you may not be able to identify many, but as you get better at Herblore you will have the ability to identify many herbs!

Other Ingredients

Each potion consists of an identified herb, and another ingredient to mix in with it. You need to combine the correct ingredients together to make the potion of your choice, and many of the ingredients can be looted from enemies. Others may require you to venture into the Wilderness to find them.

To use a weapon poison potion, just use a weapon such as a dagger or stack of arrows with it.

To get a Serum 208, simply use a Serum 207 with the fire while the sanctity is at 20% in the Mort'ton Temple.

To get full resistance to FireBreath, just drink a dose of Anti-FireBreath Potion while equipping the Anti-Dragon Shield.

Gathering Herbs

Sometimes, it can be difficult to gather new herbs when you really need them. There are 2 methods (besides looting monsters and trading other members) which you can use to increase your Herb stock.

Exchanging Goutweed

If you've completed the Eadgar's Ruse Quest (in which you had to get a Goutweed for Sanfew), you can use this method. Head to the Troll Stronghold (of course, you'll probably need some food and equipment!) and make your way to the Storeroom. You'll need the Storeroom Key to get in, which is in the southeast Kitchen Drawer (near Burntmeat the troll).

Once you're inside, you'll need to get through the "maze" of boxes to the southern part of the room. Don't let the Troll guard see you! Once you get to the south side of the room near the sleeping troll, search the nearby crate for a Goutweed.

Repeat this as many times as you wish. Once you're all set, head over to Sanfew, located upstairs in the Taverley Herblore Shop. He'll trade you as many unidentified herbs as you give him Goutweed. So if you bring him 10, he'll give you 10 unidentified herbs.

Sinister Chest

You will find Salarin the Twisted in the Yanille Agility Dungeon, and he can only be killed with the use of Strike magic spells. Each time you kill him, there's a chance that he will drop a Sinister Key, used to open the sinister Chest in the Skeleton room.

Once you have a Sinister Key, leave the dungeon and head to the old (practically dilapidated) house found north of Yanille. You'll need a knife or other sharp object to slice through the web, and you'll probably want an anti-poison potion as well.

Go down the stairs, walk across the Balance Ledge (you'll see an area where the floor has apparently caved in), and then enter the room to the west to find the chest. Open it with the Sinister Key, and you'll be poisoned. But you'll also find several herbs, including:

3 Ranarr Weed

2 Harralander

1 Irit Leaf

1 Avantoe

1 Torstol

1 Kwuarm

Runescape Fletching Guide

Fletching can often be an interesting skill to work on in RuneScape, since you can make all sorts of different things with it. The skill can also be fun, as you're not standing in the same place all the time. Instead, you can move around working on the skill, and usually you will be gaining experience toward other skills as well.

A Knife will come in handy for cutting logs into the kind of item that you want to make, and you can find one behind Bob's Axe store in Lumbridge, upstairs in the Varrock General Store, or in the house just south of the Seer's Village Pub. Once you have a Knife, you just need to use it with some logs to decide what item and how many of them you want to make. By right-clicking on the item in the menu, you can choose to either make 1, 5, 10 or 'X' of them. cheap runescape powerleveling

rrrrrrrrrrrrr

Fletching Arrows

To Fletch some arrows, you'll first need to make Arrow Shafts out of regular logs. One set of logs will make 15 Shafts, giving a total of 5xp. Now you need to obtain some feathers, and then use them with the arrow shafts. Each arrow needs just 1 feather, and you earn 1xp per feather you add. To finish the arrow, you need to get some Arrow Heads of the metal you want, either by Smithing or buying them from the Archery Shop in Catherby, the Ranging Guild, or King Lathas' Training Area. Use the heads with the arrows to finish them.

Repairing Arrows

You can repair arrows with your Construction and fletching skills by using them with a repair bench in your house. You will receive 8 xp per arrow.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fletching Bows

To make a bow, first Fletch either a Short Bow or a Long Bow out of the wood you wish to make the bow from. Now pick some Flax from either the field south of Camelot Castle, or from the Gnome Stronghold. Use the flax with a Spinning Wheel to get a Bowstring. Spinning Wheels can be found in the southeast corner of the Gnome Stronghold, upstairs in the house southwest of the Seer's Village bank, as well as in Lumbridge Castle, the Barbarian Village and Falador. Use the string with your Unstrung Bow to finish it.

It's also worth noting that in the chart above, half of the experience comes from cutting logs into an unstrung bow, and the other half comes from stringing that bow. cheap runescape powerleveling

Fletching Crossbows

Using a combination of Smithing, Fletching, Crafting and Cooking, you'll be able to make your own Crossbows. These objects are made out of both metal and wood (as well as a string), and so they require you to use these three skills to complete them.

First, use a knife with a set of logs to make a Crossbow Stock. Next, you need to make a set of Crossbow Limbs from metal. These can be made by using your Smithing skill. But remember, only certain kinds of metals will work with certain stocks.

Crossbow Stocks & Limbs

Oak Blurite

Willow Iron

Teak Steel

Maple Mithril

Yew Rune

Once you have those pieces put together, you need to add a string to the crossbow (u) so that you can actually use it. This is fairly simple to do; first you need to cook some Bear Meat (or Beef) over a range, and choose to turn it into Sinew rather than making it into an edible piece of meat. Next, spin the Sinew on a Spinning Wheel (requires 10 Crafting) to make a Crossbow String.

Lastly, just use the Crossbow String with your unfinished Crossbow to complete it!

Other Items

You can also Fletch several kinds of Bolts, as well as Darts with your Fletching Skill. Usually these are not made to increase your Fletching level, as they give less experience and are more time-consuming to make.

Darts

To make a Dart, you'll need to have already completed the Tourist Trap Quest. First Smith some dart Tips of the type of metal you want to make the dart from. Then just add a feather to each dart to complete them.

Composite Bow & Brutal Arrows

First get an Axe, some Nails of your preferred type, a Hammer and a Knife. Now cut down an Achey Tree and use the Knife with the Logs and choose the arrow shaft option (Note: you will make 2-6 arrows per set of logs). Use 4 feathers on the arrow shafts and you'll have some headless arrows. Next get your Hammer and Nails and use the nails on the headless arrows and you've made your Brutal Arrows.

Bolts

There are quite a few different kinds of bolts you can Fletch. Regular ones (such as Iron or Mithril) can be poisoned with Weapon Poison, which can poison your enemies.

To make a bolt, you need some Feathers and some Unfeathered Bolts. Feathers can be bought from any Fishing Shop (such as the ones in Port Sarim or Catherby), or obtained from Chickens. Unfeathered Bolts can be smithed out of various metals. Simply use the Feathers on the Unfeathered Bolts to make some complete Bolts for use with a Crossbow.

With bolts, there are two things worth noting. First, Blurite Bolts can only be made after completing the Knight's Sword Quest. Secondly, Silver Bolts are actually Crafted with a Silver Bolt Mould and a Silver Bar, rather than Smithed.

You may also add Bolt Tips to your Bolts, which make them more powerful. Bolt Tips can be made from Pearls, Gems, Barbs and even a Mithril Grapple.

Opal - Mine for some Opals at Shilo Village, and then use a Chisel with them to make Opal Tips. Now just use these with some regular bolts.

Pearl - Obtain some Pearls by Fishing with a big net, and then chisel them into Pearl Tips. Use them with some regular bolts.

Barbed - Buy 30 Barbed Tips from the Ticket Merchant in the Ranging Guild for 140 Tickets. Use them with regular bolts.

Gem - Use a Chisel with a gem to cut it, and then use your chisel on it again to make bolt Tips.

Runescape Fishing Guide

In order to start fishing, you're going to need to buy something to catch the fish with, and if needed, some sort of lure. The fishing shop in Port Sarim has a multitude of fishing gear, and they'll even buy the assorted fish that you catch. There's also a store in Catherby that sells Members' gear such as Big Nets.

The place that you can catch a fish, and the type of lures you use to catch it depends on the kind of fish you want to catch, so check the Fishing Gear and Fishing Chart below for specific info. buy runescape powerleveling

Once you've gotten everything together, find a sparkling fishing spot in the water and click on it. You may need to right-click to get the correct option. Your character will continue fishing until your backpack is full, or you click somewhere around you.

Once you begin to get better at fishing, you'll be able to fish for a wider variety of fish. Once fish are cooked, they can heal your lost hitpoints from a fight, and many warriors depend on skilled fisherman to sell them food. After you become an experienced fisherman, you can make a great deal of money in this trade.

Runescape Agility Guide

Agility can be a fun skill to train, and it comes in very useful throughout the game. Certain areas around RuneScape require you to have an Agility level higher than 1, and many of the more difficult quests, as well as some easy ones, require you to have a certain Agility level to complete them. One of the most important reasons to get experience in Agility is the fact that this skill is closely related to Running.

Running & Energy

Your Agility level will influence how long you'll be able to Run. The higher your Agility level, the faster your Energy will increase, therefore allowing you to run for longer periods of time. Your weight also affects your run energy, and the more weight you're carrying, the faster your energy will decrease. buy runescape gold

To see your current run energy, select the wrench icon near the bottom-right of the game screen. The menu that shows up next contains the game options, and the icon in the bottom row which looks like a person running will tell you how much energy you have left.

Failing Obstacles

In the higher level Agility course it is possible to fail obstacles. If you do fail an obstacle then you will get hit damage. The amount of damage that you get hit changes depending on which obstacle you failed and your Hitpoints at the time of failing. If you fail, you don't gain any experience, but you can still get the full course experience if you redo the obstacle that you failed. If you don't retry the obstacle, or if you skip one, you won't gain the full course xp. buy runescape gold

Restoring Your Energy

There are a number of ways to restore your energy:

White Tree Fruit - When eaten, this fruit replenishes 8% of your energy. Can be picked from the White Tree after completing Garden of Tranquility.

Summer Pie - When eaten, restores 10% of your energy and temporarily increases your Agility level by 5. Can be cooked.

Energy Potion - Restores 10% of your energy (per dose) when drank. Made with your Herblore skill.

Super Energy Potion - Restores 20% of your energy (per dose) when drank. Made with your Herblore skill.

Strange Fruit - When eaten, this odd fruit restores 30% of your energy. Obtained from the Strange Plant Random Event.

Goutweed Tuber - Restores 50% of your energy when eaten. Obtained from the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup mini-game.

Gnome Agility Course

When you first start training Agility, it's highly recommended that you begin at the Tree Gnome Stronghold Agility course. The stronghold is located north-west of Ardougne. It's by far the easiest way to quickly gain experience, as there is no chance of failing and getting hurt.

For a completed lap around the course, you'll receive a total of 86.5 Agility experience, but you must do all of the obstacles in order. First cross the Log, run forward and climb the Net. Climb up the Tree Branch, balance on the Rope and climb down the tree. Now run forward and climb over the net, climb through the Pipes and start over.

Skullball

Once you reach level 25 Agility, you'll be able to play Skullball! You must have also completed the Creature of Fenkenstrain Quest and be wearing a Ring of Charos. The course is found near Canifis, southeast of Mazchna the Slayer Master. You should find a Werewolf in a small hut in the swamp; speak to him and climb down the ladder to enter the Werewolf area.

Speak to the Skullball Boss to start a game of Skullball. It's a kind of progressive soccer, except for the fact that your ball is actually a Skull. The faster you shoot the Skull through each of the 10 different goals, the more experience you'll gain. There are 3 options that you can use when playing:

1. Tap - Moves the Skullball 1 square ahead.

2. Kick - Moves the Skullball 4 squares ahead.

3. Shoot - Moves the Skullball 10 squares ahead.

You can gain 750 or more xp if you complete the game in under 4 minutes. After that, for ever 3 seconds over 4 minutes, you'll lose about 7-8xp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agility Pyramid

The Agility Pyramid, located in the Kharidian Desert is another good place to train your Agility, while trying to reach an artifact that you can trade in for a reward. You need to have 30 Agility or better to train here. So if you're interested in training here, or if you're just curious, put on some Desert Robes, fill up some waterskins and head on over to check it out!

There are 5 levels to the pyramid, each containing traps which you must use your agility skill to avoid. These traps are as follows:

Cross Ledge 20

Cross Gap 22

Plank 22

Jump Gap 22

Although it may not immediately look like this course is really worth it, you should be happy to know that you'll receive a 700xp bonus at the end, for a total of 1,112 experience!

If you fail an obstacle, you'll fall to the lower level (so if you were on the third level, you'll fall to the second).

At the top of the pyramid you'll find a gold pyramid. Take this, and bring it to Simon Templeton who can be found just outside of the pyramid. He will buy it from you for 1,000gp--not a bad deal!

For specific information on this Agility course, please visit the Agility Pyramid Guide.

Penguin Agility Course

After completing the Cold War Quest, you'll have access to the Penguin Agility Course which requires 30 Agility and a Penguin Suit disguise.

The Penguin Agility Course is located on the Iceberg north of the Penguin Outpost. To get here, head to Rellekka, either by walking, or by using your Enchanted Lyre teleport. Take the boat from Rellekka to the Iceberg, and then head to the avalanche to the northwest. The the west is a room; follow the corridor to the Penguin Agility Course.

After reaching level 35 Agility, you'll have the ability to enter the Barbarian Outpost training area located northeast of the Tree Gnome Stronghold. But before entering, you'll need to complete the Alfred Grimhand Barcrawl. Once you complete it, you can enter the area, climb through the Pipe and begin to train your Agility!

For fully completing the course, you'll receive 117xp, along with a 46.2xp bonus, for a total of 163.2 Agility experience. Be warned however, that the obstacles can be failed and you'll take damage, so it's a good idea to bring some food with you. Should you fail an obstacle, make sure to try it again so that you can receive the full amount of experience.

First, swing on the Rope Swing and then cross the log. Climb up the Net, cross the Ledge and climb over the 3 Low Walls.

Brimhaven Agility Arena

The Agility Arena located in Brimhaven is a great place to train once you have level 40 Agility. It's a big place, and you'll get lots of experience. To some, the Agility Arena is a fun way to train, while it's boring to others. Remember, the arena is supposed to be challenging and you're likely to take quite a bit of damage here.

You'll want to bring several things, including Boots of Lightness, about 1,000gp, Cakes, and teleportation items (Runes, amulets). The reason for bringing Cakes rather than something like Lobsters is the fact that the more hitpoints you have, the more damage you'll take. Staying under 20 hits will only cause the obstacles to hit you for 2 points.

Once you have everything, talk to Cap'n Izzy No Beard located in a house north of the entrance to Brimhaven on Karamja Island. Pay him 200gp to enter, and then climb down the ladder into the arena.

Gaining Tickets

Once you're inside, you should see a flashing arrow on your map. It points in the direction of the Ticket dispenser that you must tag for a ticket. Quickly swing, walk and climb your way over the obstacles and tag a dispenser. The first time, you won't get a ticket, but you'll see that the counter in the top of your screen has turned green. Tagging the next dispenser will get you a ticket. If you miss, it will turn red and you'll need to start over. You have about 30-60 seconds to tag the dispenser.

For a more detailed explanation, be sure to check out the Brimhaven Agility Arena Guide.

There are lots of obstacles to pass in the Agility Arena. Some require Agility levels of 1, while others require you to have 20 or 40.

Be warned, if you fall, you'll lose a big percentage of your hitpoints, and downstairs there are some aggressive Skeletons as well. So good food is recommended, and if you need to get some more, go to the Mage Arena bank. Be careful, there are level 22 Skeletons throughout the course!

Werewolf Fetch Game

This is the ultimate Agility challenge! You need at least 60 Agility to play (as well as a Ring of Charos), and you can find it just west of the Skullball arena. It's very difficult, and it's also timer-based like Skullball. The object of the game is to get the stick that the Agility Trainer throws and bring it back to him to get an experience reward.

Yanille Agility Dungeon

North of Yanille is a small shack with some Webs blocking the entrance. Slash them with a sharp weapon and you'll be able to enter the Agility Dungeon, mainly used for Herblore and Combat training. At the entrance are some Giant Bats, and a Balancing Ledge. Cross it and you'll find some Chaos Druids for Herblore training. Don't use the Prayer Altar unless you want to fall into a pit of Poison Spiders!

Past the Druids are some Monkey Bars, which lead to another room with more Chaos Druids. The door to the south leads to the Yanille Bank, but it requires level 82 Thieving to open. Continuing east and down the stairs, you'll find Salarin the Twisted. He can only be killed with Strike spells, and he sometimes drops a Sinister Key. This allows you to open the Sinister Chest past the Pipe that contains various Herbs including Torstol.
